Women’s Circles
A circle with a sacred centre/altar is the oldest known form of social interaction. This is how villages would have gathered to interact, eat, commune and pass down wisdom or stories.
The remanence of the Circle can be found in every single ancient culture, with the first being documented in 800 CE, and stem from African roots. Typically, these began to help women through the rite of passage when menstruation began.
It wasn’t uncommon for entire communities to have all of the women bleeding at the same time, which created The Red Tent. The women would circle and be asked to gain wisdom, insights from Spirit and messages for the wider village. Women were very rooted in nature and trusted their intuition above all.
This has become lost in our masculine structured world where women who would gather were hunted to make way for a Patriarchal system.
I believe it is important to have accessible circles, especially within the Bow Valley. You may have heard of a Circle, or not, there is no prerequisite to joining one.
All that gets asked is that you bring an open heart, open mind and love. To remove judgements and competition and just see each other for the valuable and powerful women we are.
Birth Story Circle
This is for the mother who is wanting to be fully witnessed in her story. The birth stories are the theme of this gathering.
Any story is welcomed - and please keep this in mind when joining. Birth experiences are a spectrum and there is no room for judgements when it comes to birth.
These circles will happen within my home, where you will get more details upon signing up for the circle!
There will be light refreshments and tea.
The investment is $40 to secure your spot. Seats are very limited for these circles to ensure an intimate setting.
The next Birth Story Circle will take place on Sunday, July 20th from 10am-1pm.
This is not your typical mothers gathering. This gathering is about shared presence, every woman, mother and their children are welcomed and no one walks alone. It is a potluck styled lunch, with soups, healthy charcuterie and bread.
The next Stone Soup Gathering will take place on Friday, July 18th from 11am-1pm. It will take place at my home in Canmore Alberta, rain or shine.
This is where you can come as you are, bring what you have and as a village, we get to create something beautiful.
These gatherings weave women from all walks and ages; maidens, mothers, magas + crone… we all have wisdom to share and connection to be felt.
Please bring a healthy appetizer and blanket.
Stone Soup Gathering
These gatherings are for the women who:
feel they long for a village where mothers, babies, aunties and grandmothers all belong.
feel that community is the root of connection and thriving.
you value kindness over judgements and crave real connection, not debate
you want to barter, swap, share skills, tend gardens, trade childcare, and make new friends.
you want to be a part of a circle that lives beyond a meeting - community that truly shows up with meals, meetups and care.
You do not need to be a mother to attend - but you do need to have a heart for mothers, babies, and the ancient ways of women gathering in love.
